MASSAGE THERAPY SERVICES

Swedish Massage

This is the most popular type of massage therapy that promotes a sense of well-being while reducing pain and muscle stiffness, stress and treating injuries.  This therapy involves a variety of techniques which the therapist will use her hands, forearm, and elbow to apply a mild, moderate or deeper pressure according to the client’s body type and needs.

Deep Tissue

After warming up the muscles with Swedish techniques the therapist will use deeper and precise techniques such as trigger point, friction and myofascial release in specific areas.  Deep tissue massage helps to release resistant knots, heal scar tissues, and relieve pain from injuries, chronic conditions, stress and tension from exertion.

Pregnancy Massage

Receiving massage during pregnancy brings a sense of love, self-care, and nourishment.  It also brings some relief to discomforts experienced due to body changes to accommodate the baby.  In addition, to increase relaxation and improve circulation, therapeutic massage is indicated to muscle and joint pain, stress, anxiety, swelling in the hands and feet, and leg cramps.

*Massage therapy can be performed throughout the entire pregnancy if you are experiencing a safe, uneventful pregnancy.  If there are any concerns, please consult with your primary health care provider before receiving a treatment.

Hot Stone Therapy

This massage is performed with basalt stones, which contain amounts of minerals such as magnesium, iron, calcium, and sodium.  The primary use of Hot Stone Therapy is to relieve muscle pain and discomfort, as well as to be placed along the body’s energy pathways to allow the chi (vital energy) to heal on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

The application of a heated stone to the body will cause the blood vessels to expand and dilate, which increases sweating and circulation, therefore muscles will relax and you will feel a sedative and relaxing effect right away.

*The use of Hot Stone Therapy is contraindicated for acute conditions that require medical attention as well as for people with severe hypertension, high fever, and contagious or infectious conditions.

Thai Massage

Thai Massage is an ancient healing therapy with profound healing benefits.  A gentle pressure on energy lines along with yoga-like stretching for an invigorating and balancing experience.  A feeling of relaxation for the whole body on a deeper level.  This deeper level of relaxation improves the individual’s personal outlook and their emotional status.
